5. Conclusion

Today, Joseph Campbell's mythology has become the basic framework of games and films, and Nakazawa Shin'ichi's mythology is laying the psychoanalytic foundation of economics. Combining the two mythologies, the two representative cultures of the modern age—science and literature—are joined through the fractal principle. If one seeks, among the myths, the combination of the two mythologies that also accords with today's science, it is precisely the Maitreya–Mithra–Dangun myth. The Maitreya–Mithra myth and the Dangun myth have until now been believed by the same region and the same people, yet their connection was not noticed, and their scientific character was not examined either. That the connection of the three myths was not noticed and their scientific character not examined can be attributed to the common cause of the vestiges of colonial culture and to the development of both mythology and science. Korea's Maitreya–Mithra–Dangun myth, which appears in its original form to a degree unparalleled in the world, needs to be continually re-examined through a new mythology.
